Half moon Diary - Prologue

The holy cross stood soiled in blood, jutting from the wasteland of an erstwhile village. Chanting of obscure prayers resounded from the lips of gathered cloaked men, causing the bleeding and battered body suspended upon the cross to tremble. Angry, berating cries filled the chant gaps, all their rage weighing down on the cross's victim, a horned boy. Inhumanly fasten with stakes and rope, the boy, no older than fourteen, hung limp and defeated.
